You should arouse in yourself a deep, true\u00a0sorrow for your sins, how they have offended God who loves you\u00a0infinitely, and how they have hurt our fellow men who need our help.\u00a0You should not try to ferret out each and every sin \u2013 serious attitudes\u00a0of sin will not usually come to mind immediately, nor should you\u00a0waste time in useless regrets.<\/p>\n<p>Please remember that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is above all an\u00a0act of God\u2019s love, it is a personal moment to be lived in a relationship\u00a0of love with God.<\/p>\n<p>You are invited in the light of God\u2019s love<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\uf0b7 To recognize the sinfulness in your life \u2026<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 To have a true sorrow for these sins \u2026<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 And a firm intention to avoid them in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These elements are essential to a proper and meaningful celebration\u00a0of the Sacrament.\u00a0Sin is not merely a series of failures. It is also your sharing in what is\u00a0actually evil:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\uf0b7 Unbelief, indifference, selfishness,<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 Violence, contempt for the weak, eroticism,<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 Racism, neglect of the poor,<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 Money seeking, wastefulness,<\/li>\n<li>\uf0b7 A spirit of pride and superiority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every sin, in one way or another, has a community dimension.
